The NY Giants might have pulled off the biggest upset this far in the season going into Seattle and defeating the first-place Seahawks 17-12.

The NY Giants secured their fourth consecutive win and they made a statement with it, upsetting the Seattle Seahawks 17-12. The Giants went into Seattle and defeated the number one team in the very competitive NFC West.

The Giants look like a completely different team than the one that started this season. Despite being without starting quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley, this team is playing with a lot of confidence.

New York looks like a team that is buying into Joe Judge and the rest of the coaching staff.

It has to be so frustrating for Joe Judge to see special teams make careless errors. Punter Riley Dixon has been less than stellar at pinning opponents deep. It came to a head today when Seattle was able to block a punt early in the first half resulting in a safety. It has been a consistent issue with special teams giving up big returns.

The Giants’ defense has been playing well for weeks now, but this was the performance needed to make people buy-in. New York’s pass rush came alive today. Leonard Williams has proven to be deserving of last season’s trade. Williams had 2.5 sacks on the day, totaling 8.5 for the season.  Jabrill Peppers wanted to show that he wants to be in the conversation for top safety, delivering a sack today similar to Seattle’s safety Jamal Adams. Adams leads all safeties with 7.5 sacks, but Peppers got to show Adams anything he can do, he can do too.

This is one of the best games for New York’s defense in years. When they needed a stop, they got it.

This young and confident group of Giants’ defenders made Russell Wilson’s day incredibly laborious.

Yes, the Giants got the win, but Colt McCoy really didn’t play much of a role in it. McCoy did well enough, however, that he did not cost the team the game which was all anyone could ask for. It would’ve been great to see Jones out there getting his first signature win against a very good Seattle team. Coach Judge has not committed to a starter for next week’s game yet.

When Saquon Barkley got injured it was almost like New York’s running game died.  Like the rest of the team, the running game did suffer at first. Since the start of the Giants’ win streak, the running game has excelled. Mostly off the legs of Wayne Gallman. Gallman has been with the team for four seasons, but failed to make an impact and fell on the depth chart. Today, Gallman rushed for over one hundred yards for the first time in his career. The Giants seem to really feed off of his energy. Gallman had the biggest play of the game running 60 yards down the sideline to set up an Alfred Morris touchdown.

Before today the Giants had only beaten Washington, Philadelphia, and a Joe Burrow-less Cincinnati team.

None of those wins could solidify the Giants as any type of serious threat.  Coming into Seattle and holding Russell Wilson to just twelve points is a clear indication that teams should give the Giants a second look. While it’s just one win, it was a look at a new, more disciplined New York team. They are committed to playing their style of football and it is working. This is the best the Giants have looked in years and they did it without Daniel Jones. They could easily fall back to the team who started the season 0-5, however, this team looks focused on the future.
