2. His Versatility Cannot Be Understated

During his time with Northwestern, Slater learned to play every position on the offensive line, tackle, guard, and center.

Slater’s versatility could be a major asset to the Giants because in his rookie year, Slater can be plugged into any weak area on the offensive line and instantly make the position better. For example, he can take snaps away from Shane Lemieux or Will Hernandez, linemen who struggled last year, or if Nate Solder’s performance is unremarkable after opting out of the 2020 season, Slater may find himself as the Giants’ starting right tackle.
