NFC East’s #2 team: NY Giants

Then there were the NY Giants, collecting their second victory in three weeks this past Sunday and giving fans hope that this won’t be another lost season at MetLife Stadium on the blue side of the block.

The home win over the Las Vegas Raiders improved their record to 3-6, still three and a half games back of the Cowboys for the NFC East lead. And though the offense was lacking in spectacular against a decent, if unspectacular, Raiders defense, it showed that Big Blue can pull away and finish games.

For a team that has lost three games by one score already this season, and eight total since the start of the 2020 season, that’s astounding news.

While the momentum is tangible, and you do need to beat the teams in front of you, it should be noted that the Raiders have been dealing with a host of off-field issues.

Perhaps the Giants can parlay the bye week rest into a successful outing against the reigning Super Bowl champs the next time they take the field on Monday Night Football November 22nd.

Otherwise, the division crown is going to be out of reach far too soon if the ‘Boys get their act together. The NFC South and NFC West look likely to each have two postseason representatives, eliminating the wild card as an option.
