Daniel Jones Overall Week 12 Grade: B-

Jones was solid although unspectacular again in Week 12.

Jones won the game (it was probably more of a C+ performance from No. 8 but it was a divisional game) and he didn’t turn the ball over. See any correlation there?

If Daniel Jones is to be the franchise quarterback many hope he can be in New York, then games like this need to become more common. The theme of turnovers that’s plagued Jones’ career is slowly starting to go away and the Giants should feel better about that.

Now, Jones needs to take the next step of becoming an all-encompassing dominant QB. He’s proven to be a dual-threat QB with his arms and legs. If Jones can harness his physical skills with his mental processing as he did vs the Eagles, then the Giants could feel more confident in their #6 pick from 2019.

Jones can be a good, fun quarterback at times when his offensive line gives him a shot and his receivers make some plays. It’s been very difficult to evaluate Jones all year long with a constant rotating door at every offensive line spot and at receiver.

Jones needs consistency both from himself and from those surrounding him on offense. Winning divisional games are a huge part of what it takes to be a successful NFL quarterback and help lead your team to winning seasons. Daniel Jones has yet to be a winning quarterback in New York but days like this provide hope he can buck the losing trend.
