NY Giants S Jabrill Peppers

Peppers was in the midst of a down season, coupled with decreased playing time, when his 2021 campaign was cut short by season-ending injuries.

When Peppers suffered a ruptured ACL and high-ankle sprain on the same play last month against the Carolina Panthers, it likely not only ended his time with the NY Giants but also his chance of cashing in on a long-term mega-contract as a free agent.

There’s always a chance that the NY Giants bring Peppers back on some sort of one-year “prove it” deal, to primarily utilize him on special teams and as a depth player on defense.

However, with the emergence of Xavier McKinney as a Pro Bowl-caliber player in his second NFL season, safety Logan Ryan’s value to the defense, and Julian Love making the most of his opportunities in the secondary, Peppers would be more of a luxury piece than anything else for a team that doesn’t have the cap space to afford many luxuries.
