The case against NY Giants keeping Daniel Jones

With the good comes the bad, and unfortunately in Daniel Jones’ case, we’ve seen precisely more bad throughout his tenure.

It’s not all on him, the NY Giants front office has failed to support his development like Buffalo has done with Josh Allen.

In Jones’ case, he doesn’t have that ‘It’ factor to put a team on his back and push through adversity.

The NY Giants quarterback also has a major problem with staying on the field and may as well be considered injury prone at this state with the number of games he’s missed in his career so far.

Jones is currently out right now with a neck injury, missing last Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins and appears he’s likely to be out again versus Los Angeles Chargers.

Another thing to remember is that the Giants have two first round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft that are both projected to be top 10 picks.

Although the quarterback class of 2022 is considered to be the weakest in years, it wouldn’t be a shock for a quarterback to be selected, especially if GM Dave Gettleman isn’t expected to be in New York after this season.

A new general manager, and potentially new coaching staff would mean that there would be no attachment to Jones and wouldn’t be so reluctant to stick with him.

This team’s fanbase has been outspoken for almost a decade now, and hasn’t had a winning season since 2016.

This cycle of rebuilding the Giants seem stuck in seems endless and looks like it will happen yet again for another couple of seasons. Serious discussions will be had about the direction this team is heading and whether Jone’s as the long term quarterback will be in the teams future plans at all.
