WR Darius Slayton

Darius Slayton has not had the best season, tallying 23 receptions for 303 yards and 1 TD’s in 11 games.

This is not ideal, especially when you consider he has six dropped passes in these 11 games. While this number of drops matches his total for last season, he played a total of 16 games last year compared to 11 this season, again, not ideal.

However, with Sterling Shepard going down with a torn Achilles last week, alongside John Ross getting put on the COVID list, the NY Giants will only have 4 active receivers this week, with Slayton being one of them.

The NY Giants need Slayton to step up this week, with Jake Fromm showing an ability to throw those 50/50 deep balls, as seen last week, it is likely the NY Giants use Slayton as a deep threat like he should have been all season.

If this is the case, there is high potential for Slayton to have a great game, however, even if this is not the case, and the NY Giants decide to continue to use Slayton on short passes, Slayton still has potential to have a big game due to the NY Giants lack of receivers.

Slayton still has potential to turn his rough season around, and if there is ever a week to do it, this is the week. If Jake Fromm can play well, and if Slayton can manage to suppress his dropped passes problem, Slayton should be in line to have his best game in weeks.
