The NY Giants roll the dice on John Metchie in the NFL Draft

John Metchie’s ACL tear was a huge blow to Alabama’s College Football Playoff hopes, though it’s hard not to see the Tide as the current favorite anyway even without him. The Giants are less interested in whether or not his team can do so, and are more interested in aiming to steal what could have been a day one NFL Draft talent in the later rounds because of his injury.

Metchie caught 28 more targets by Bryce Young than the No. 2 Alabama receiver Jameson Williams. Even if it takes a bit for Metchie to recover from injury, he’s a more than worthy gamble in the middle rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft.

If NYG can land him, Metchie has star potential should he return to full health.
