LB Quay Walker, Georgia:

The NY Giants have massive gaps at the linebacker position, with Blake Martinez coming back from an ACL injury. The only other linebackers that will likely be on the roster next year are Tae Crowder, who is one of the lowest graded linebackers in the NFL by PFF with a grade of 29, Carter Coughlin, and T.J Brunson, all of which are former seventh-round picks.

With this in mind, the NY Giants should target Quay Walker with one of their mid-round picks.

Walker is a 6-foot-4 and 240-pound linebacker out of Georgia, who could provide some valuable snaps to the NY Giants if they were to select him.

In 13 games this season, Walker has put up 51 combined tackles, 2 sacks, and 12 QB hurries. All while playing on the best defense in college football.

Walker is great at diagnosing the run and hitting the correct holes to stop running backs in their tracks. This is something the NY Giants lack currently in Tae Crowder. Walker is also a phenomenal tackler, only missing two tackles on the entire season.

An aspect of Walker’s game that could be of some use to the NY Giants is his ability to play in coverage. According to PFF, Walker had a 76.5 pass coverage grade this season. Now, while this is nothing crazy, when you compare it to how the current NY Giants linebackers are in coverage, it is a huge number. If this part of his game can translate to the NFL it would be a huge addition to the NY Giants defense.
