4 NY Giants who came up big at the right time vs. the Ravens
By Zak Musso
1. Quarterback Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones deserves all the credit in the world. The Giants are 5-1, and the quarterback has been one of the main reasons this season has gotten off to a scorching start. Jones also made a little bit of history on Sunday afternoon.
With the running game stifled a bit Sunday, Jones stepped up, completing 19 of his 27 pass attempts for 173 yards. Jones also had a season-high two passing touchdowns, and could have easily had a third if Darius Slayton hauled in a back shoulder fade in the fourth quarter.
Jones played yet another clean and efficient game, and he has turned the ball over just four times in six games this season. Jones dropped dimes all over the field on Sunday, and weirdly enough he seems more confident on 3rd-and-long than any other situation.
The Giants have overcome three double-digit deficits the season, and that speaks to the poise, maturity, and confidence of Jones. Jones’ fourth quarter touchdown to Daniel Bellinger was one of the best throws we have seen him make in years, and it flipped the tide of the game.
If Jones continues to play at this high of a level, we could be seeing a great Danny to Danny connection in New York for many years to come.
