2. Green Bay Packers

Another “Super Bowl contender” who has had a rather dismal receiving core are the Green Bay Packers. After trading Davante Adams to the Raiders this past offseason, the Packers receiving core is left with Allen Lazard, two rookies Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson, and two aging veterans:  Randall Cobb and Sammy Watkins.

The Packers roster clearly does not have a No. 1 receiver on their roster. Lazard currently leads the Packers in receiving, but he’s averaging a pedestrian 47.5 receiving yards per game.

Aaron Rodgers is a Hall of Fame quarterback, but even he can’t make this receiving core look respectable, especially the last two weeks, as the Packers blew a double-digit lead to the Giants in London and then were destroyed at home against the Jets.

The Packers need more speed, athleticism, and explosiveness if they even want a chance to be competitive in the playoffs. Who knows, maybe Brian Gutekunst will feel desperate to give his QB an explosive receiver and make Joe Schoen an offer he can’t refuse.
