The nightmare is over! After not making the postseason since the 2016 campaign, the NY Giants are back in business, locking in an NFC Wild Card spot after taking down the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at MetLife Stadium 38-10. This was a complete and total domination by Big Blue, with the Colts barely making the team sweat.

On offense, Daniel Jones played so well, while Wink Martindale’s squad stepped up big time in this one. As you keep celebrating the big win, go ahead and check out our takeaways from the action. There’s four in particular that stood out.

4. Landon Collins is the man

We love having you back, Landon Collins! From the moment Collins made his way back to the squad, originally on the practice squad, he has really made his presence felt in recent weeks. He looked sharp recently and really took things to a new level in Week 17 with the fans losing their minds in East Rutherford.

With Nick Foles thinking he could get away with a terrible throw, Collins stepped in front of a pass-catcher and came down with a stellar interception. Not only that, but Collins then was able to fly down the field for the pick-six. There wasn’t going to be anything or anyone that was going to deny Collins here.

How awesome was that to see from Collins? You could tell just how much this moment meant to him and every single one of his teammates loved seeing it. With Collins getting more and more playing time, he’s making Martindale’s decision pay off big time to have him so involved.

3. Daniel Jones was electric in the win

This was the showing everyone has been waiting to see from Daniel Jones. This was a complete game from the stud signal-caller Not only was he solid throwing the ball, but he really did put on a show with his wheels as well. In total, Jones scored four touchdowns in the dominant win for the G-Men. That’s right, four.

Jones tossed touchdowns to Richies James and Isaiah Hodgins, while breaking free for two impressive touchdown runs as well. Daboll was fired up on the sidelines seeing his young quarterback do his thing. At the end of the day, the Giants were expected to look sharp – but Jones himself exceeded expectations.

Now, Jones is going to have to keep playing smart once the postseason arrives. Jones isn’t a perfect QB and he still has a lot to improve on. However, this young man keeps looking sharp each week and he has surely played his way to a new contract.

2. Isaiah Hodgins can’t stop making plays for this team

What a true blessing Hodgins has been from the Football Gods. A midseason pickup, Hodgins has become the most reliable option for Jones. Despite James leading the team with his seven receptions for 76 yards, No. 18 still delivered for the Giants with his four catches, and another score to celebrate.

With Kenny Golladay being a major disappointment, and Kadarius Toney now playing for the Chiefs, someone had to come up big for Jones in the second half of the campaign and Hodgins has done just that. He’s got sure hands and no one has to worry about him having any issues when it comes to drops.

Hodgins is going to be a big part of this offense once the postseason arrives. Mike Kafka needs to keep getting him the ball. Not only has Hodgins been a pleasant surprise for the team this year, but he has 100 percent deserved a deal to return next campaign as well.

1. NY Giants are headed to the playoffs baby

Don’t make any plans for Wild Card Weekend, because the NY Giants are going to be in action. For the first time since the 2016 season, Big Blue indeed will be in the postseason, which is something not a lot of people thought would even be possible ahead of the campaign getting underway.

A lot of people assumed the Giants would finish with maybe 4-5 wins, but they’re now 9-6-1 entering the final week of the year. This really is wild to think about. The Giants have been such a pleasure to watch in 2022 and Daboll/Joe Schoen are the big reason why. They’ve completely turned this franchise around.

Daboll coaches with so much passion, and the addition of Martindale to help lead this defense has proven to be nothing short of sensational. You’ve got to be happy for Daboll too. He has given his all to help out this team in ’22 and now he’s going to the postseason in his first year as head coach. This is such a great moment for him.
