The countdown keeps shrinking for the 2023 NFL Draft and people can’t wait to see who the NY Giants end up taking in the first round. There’s a lot of pressure on general manager Joe Schoen to get things right this season. No one can argue he killed it in the draft last spring, bringing in Kavyon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal in the first round.
Now, Schoen is focused on bringing in even more help on both sides of the ball. With the first-round selection, the Giants hold the No. 26 overall pick, but they’ll actually be calling in 25th thanks to Miami losing it’s top selection this year.
So, who will Schoen rock with when NY is on the clock? We think he’ll end up going with a stud wideout:
NY Giants Mock Draft Round 1: Tennessee WR Jalin Hyatt
As you might have been able to guess, we’ve got the New York Giants going with Jalin Hyatt in the first round, and other mocks out there agree. The fact of the matter here is that the Giants need a young wideout to step in a be a playmaker for this offense.
The expectation is that he’ll still be on the board when it’s time for the G-Men to send in their selection. There’s several other top wide receiver targets that fans would love to see make their way to East Rutherford, but they may not be available. Those prospects include Quentin Johnston, Jordan Addison and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Hyatt would still be a great addition, and he put up some impressive numbers last season for the Tennessee Volunteers. Hyatt, a 6-0, 175-pounder, hauled in 67 balls for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns. He may not be the biggest WR, but he has great hands and speed. We’ve love to see him join New York.

NY Giants Mock Draft Round 2: Wisconsin OL Joe Tippmann
The interior offensive line for the Giants was a disaster in 2022 – actually, it’s been terrible for a while now. Enter Wisconsin center Joe Tippmann? Yes please. In his recent two-round mock, ESPN’s Matt Miller has Tippman going to the Giants in the second round and we’d surely love to see that happen as well.
The edges of the offensive line for the Giants are set with left tackle Andrew Thomas and right tackle Evan Neal. However, the rest of the unit feels a bit uncertain. Jon Feliciano was signed to a deal ahead of the 2022 campaign to be a stud center for the Giants, but he proved to be far too inconsistent.
There’s talk about Nick Gates possibly being re-signed and taking over at center, but a 6-6, 317-pounder like Tippmann could be the solution for head coach Brian Daboll at the position. In the second round, the Giants hold the No. 57 overall pick. If Tippmann is still there for the taking, Schoen should go with him.

NY Giants Mock Draft Round 3: Washington State LB Daiyan Henley
With the No. 89 overall pick, the Giants could look to address their needs at linebacker. In this case, look for Washington State linebacker Daiyan Henley to be on the NY radar. Henley just put on a show at the Senior Bowl and he most certainly raised his stock while over in Mobile. Now, a third-round selection would make sense for him.
Henley made his way to WSU prior to the 2022 season from Nevada and he was downright electric for head coach Jake Dickert. Henley was so impressive, he earned First-Team All-Pac-12 honors and he was without question the best player for the Cougars. This kid has a bright future in the NFL, no doubt.
NY Giants Mock Draft Round 3: Oregon LB Noah Sewell
Thanks to the Kadarius Toney trade with the Chiefs, the Giants have another third-round pick, this time they’ll be holding the No. 100 overall selection. While taking two linebackers in the same round doesn’t make an ounce of sense, it’s time to get nuts and Sewell is a fantastic player. With this, no more Jaylon Smith. No more Tae Crowder.
Those days are over. Both Henley and Sewell would be fantastic additions for defensive coordinator Wink Martindale.

NY Giants Mock Draft Round 4: Iowa CB Riley Moss
Sticking with defense, you already know that the Giants secondary also needs some help. Adoree’ Jackson is locked in as the top cornerback on the outside, but there’s someone else that’s needed to be out there with him as well on the other side of the field. With this in mind, Iowa cornerback Riley Moss is an intriguing target.
A 6-1, 195-pounder, Moss has solid size for a cornerback and he is coming off a strong season with the Hawkeyes in 2022. Last year for Iowa, the DB posted 47 total tackles, one interception and 11 pass deflections. In his five years with the program, Moss finished with 11 interceptions to his name.
His INTs from ’22 don’t jump off the page, but the youngster is a solid tackler and he’s got a nose for the ball. He might not be ready to be a 17-game starter right away, but Moss would be a great value pick in the fourth round at No. 128 overall.

NY Giants Mock Draft Round 5: Texas RB Roschon Johnson
We’re keeping our fingers crossed in this case that running back Roschon Johnson falls to the fifth round. Widely considered a potential Day 2 pick, Johnson broke a bone in his hand at the Senior Bowl and that could have some scouts and general managers a bit worried about his status moving forward.
However, Johnson would be a much more well known player if he didn’t play behind star running back Bijan Robinson, who will surely hear his name called pretty dang early in the draft. What really makes Johnson stand out is his impressive size for a RB, as he checks in at 6-2, 223 pounds. That’s quality right there.
This past season for the Longhorns, Johnson ran the ball 93 times for 554 yards and five touchdowns. For those of you keeping track at home, that was a six-yard per carry average for the big-bodied back. We think Mike Kafka, if he doesn’t take the Cardinals job, would surely find a way to get him the ball behind Saquon Barkley on Sundays. Let’s go with him with the No. 162 overall pick.

NY Giants Mock Draft Round 6: Princeton WR Andrei Iosivas
Just one wideout in the first round isn’t going to cut it for Schoen to help out Danny Dimes. Someone who turned heads at the Senior Bowl is no question Princeton WR Andrei Iosivas, who checks in at 6-3, 220 pounds. Not only does Iosivas have great size and leaping abilities, but he has some serious wheels.
Iosivas is an All-American track standout, which speaks to his blazing speed. Get the ball in this kid’s hands in the open field and opposing defensive backs are going to have a tough time trying to bring him down. Iosivas is a bit of a raw project and it’s going to take him some time to develop at the next level, but with pick No. 208 overall, Schoen could do a lot worse than this.
NY Giants Mock Draft Round 6: UCLA OL Atonio Mafi
Remember how we discussed about how poor the interior offensive line has been for the Giants? Schoen will need to use a late-round pick on another guard and UCLA’s Atonio Mafi would be a solid addition. Mafi started all 13 games at left guard for the Bruins in 2022 and the 6-4, 339-pounder was fantastic. In total, he appeared in 56 games for UCLA, tying a school record.

NY Giants Mock Draft Round 7: Alabama OT Tyler Steen
With the No. 242 overall pick, thanks to Baltimore, we like Alabama offensive tackle Tyler Steen (No. 54 in the photo above) with this pick. Yes, Thomas and Neal are the tackles of the future for this team, but Steen would be incredible depth beind them. Not only did Steen earn All-SEC honors with the Crimson Tide in ’22, but he was great at the Senior Bowl as well.
NY Giants Mock Draft Round 7: Missouri pass-rusher Isaiah McGuire
As for the No. 245 overall pick, NY’s second in the seventh round, Missouri pass-rusher Isaiah McGuire could prove to be a late steal. We know that the Giants are set with Azeez Ojulari and Thibodeaux as the stud pass-rushers for the future, but Ojulari’s injury history is starting to become a worry. McGuire could be solid depth on the outside, or with his versatility you could give him a look on the inside too.
NY Giants Mock Draft Round 7: South Carolina cornerback Darius Rush
This would be the second cornerback taken in the NFL Draft for Schoen this spring, and we’ve got our eyes on South Carolina’s Darius Rush. Last season for the Gamecocks, the 6-2, 195-pounder posted 38 total tackles and two interceptions.

4 teams who would jump at signing Saquon Barkley if Giants let him walk
If the NY Giants and Saquon Barkley aren't able to reach an agreement on a multi-year deal, squads will be lining up to try and sign him.
