4 NY Giants free agents most likely to re-sign with the team this offseason
1. QB Daniel Jones
While the recent reports surrounding what Daniel Jones could be demanding this offseason has some fans worried about whether or not he will return, we find it highly unlikely that Schoen won’t get something done with him.
In 16 games this past season, Jones completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions while running the ball 120 times for 708 yards and seven scores. Jones was one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks this season. He’s earned his extension.
Alongside all of this, Jones led the NY Giants to the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and stepped up every time in the biggest games. Jones’s box score stats really don’t do him justice – he was superb for the G-Men.
The expectation is that Jones could command between $35-37 million per season, which a lot of NY supporters are hesitant about. With the way the market is set up, though, it could be tough for Schoen to get him to agree to something for much less. Regardless, look for Danny Dimes to figure things out contract wise and then get this team back to the playoffs next winter.
