As you’ve probably seen all over Twitter, people have been quick to blast the NY Giants and general manager Joe Schoen for giving Daniel Jones his four-year deal. The contract was finalized minutes before the deadline came for the franchise tag. Yes, four years and $160 million felt like a ton.

However, the full Jones contract details sure makes it seem like great business for Schoen and the rest of the front office. The GM has seen some of the hate he and the organization have been receiving over the past few days, but he doesn’t give a damn about it.

NY Giants GM Joe Schoen is excited about the future for Big Blue

"“We can’t worry about what people are saying outside the building. All we care about is inside these walls,” Schoen said during a presser. “And we’ve got a very talented, experienced coaching staff and a very talented personnel staff, I believe. And what matters is what we think inside this building. That’s how we’re always going to make decisions. We’re not going to worry about the outside noise. And we’re going to be convicted in what we’re doing. It’s a well thought out process, and we’re happy with the decision that we made. And we’re happy to move forward with Daniel.”"

That’s a powerful statement from Schoen and it’s one that NY supporters will surely love seeing. At the end of the day, people trust Schoen and the vision he has for the future. The cap flexibility there is for NY thanks to the Jones deal is something he’ll look to take full advantage of.

As Schoen said, the Giants are going to busy making moves this offseason.  Meanwhile for Jones, you better believe he’s seen people blasting him left and right too, with Bears safety Jaquan Brister being on the list.

Jones is going to be motivated to silence all of his haters from the moment the 2023 campaign gets underway. He’ll have the confidence knowing that both Schoen and head man Brian Daboll will fully be backing him.
