1. Signing Daniel Jones to his mega-deal: B+

Last but not least, Schoen was able to get things across the finish line with Jones right before the franchise tag deadline. In the end, Jones, coming off the best season of his career, inked a four-year, $160 million contract with the G-Men. This feels like a bit of a gamble for Schoen and Co., but the way the contract is structured, the Giants can move on after two seasons and not pay a huge price for it.

However, people are hoping that Jones can live up to the hype of this new contract and be the franchise QB for the long haul for this team. Not only was locking in Jones the right move, but it also has given the Giants cap flexibility this offseason to make some of the move we previously mentioned in this piece.

Not only that, but with signing Jones, it opened the door for the Giants to use the franchise tag on Saquon Barkley, keeping him in town for ’23. There’s still a chance that the Giants and Schoen give Barkley a new deal, which would open up even more cap room for the squad. Plenty of eyes will be on Jones, though, next campaign and beyond. Something tells us he’ll be a stud next fall and winter.
