3 players Giants should draft to increase Super Bowl odds
By Reed Wallach
The Giants shocked many this past season when they made a run to the postseason and proceeded to win on the road in Minnesota before bowing out to the eventual NFC champions Philadelphia Eagles.
New York is picking No. 25 in the 2023 NFL Draft next Thursday and would love to bolster the team's Super Bowl odds with an instant impact contributor. The team has its quarterback of the future in place in Daniel Jones, but desperately needs to surround him with more weapons. Can they acquire a pass catcher at 25 that can help take this team to the next level?
What about on defense, where the Giants can look to solidify its secondary and Wink Martindale's aggressive scheme?
First, here are the Giants current Super Bowl odds followed by three players that can make an instant impact on the team's Super Bowl odds:

New York Giants 2023 NFL Draft targets
- Zay Flowers
- Jordan Addison
- Emmanuel Forbes
Zay Flowers
Flowers was a dynamic pass catcher at Boston College who hauled in over 1,000 yards last season on 78 catches and 12 touchdowns. He can stretch the field with his explosive burst on the outside and has reliable hands as well.
The Giants need to give Jones' more weapons in the passing game after the team maximized its potential despite one of the worst receiving corps in the league. Flowers is an instant contributor that can bolster the team's passing game.
Jordan Addison
Wide receiver should be a priority for the Giants, so let's focus on a second option if Flowers is gone or isn't the top choice on the team's draft board. Addison is the No. 1 wide receiver prospect on Daniel Jeremiah's big board and is one of the best route runners in recent memory.
While his numbers weren't as stellar with USC this past season, 875 yards and seven touchdowns, Addison won the Biletnikoff Award for most outstanding wide receiver in 2021 where he posted 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns along side Kenny Pickett at Pitt.
Emmanuel Forbes
Martindale's blitz heavy defense puts the onus on the secondary to make plays on its own, enter Forbes, the Mississippi State product.
At six-feet tall, Forbes is the ideal size for a cornerback and he has incredible instincts on the ball as he is the active career lead in defensive touchdowns at six in three seasons with the Bulldogs. Overall, Forbes has 14 interceptions, a forced fumbles and blocked kick in 35 games.
I believe he is a great fit for the Giants at 25 as he is mocked right in the late 20's with his average expected draft position is 28.4, per Grinding the Mocks, so this wouldn't be a reach whatsoever. Maybe New York has eyes on another corner, but I believe Forbes fits the scheme perfectly.
