Another week, another disastrous loss for the NY Giants, as they were taken down by the Las Vegas Raiders 30-6 on Sunday. Fans had some optimism leading up to kickoff, as it was announced both Daniel Jones and Andrew Thomas would be returning. However, that hope was quickly squandered after Jones went down with a nasty knee injury. The Giants fear he tore his ACL - unreal.

Now, the Giants are at 2-7 on the year and are projected to have the No. 4 overall pick in next spring's NFL Draft. The season is feeling like a wasted one, with the Week 9 loss being the latest gut punch. Here are our five main disappointments from the action:

5. QB Daniel Jones

We've got to start off with Danny Dimes, as first off, you've just got to feel bad for him with this injury setback. Once Jones undergoes an MRI, the expectation is that it will confirm that he tore his ACL, ending his season. Then, who knows if he'll be ready for the start of next year. That's a brutal blow for Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen.

As for his play before going down, Jones would play just the first quarter before walking off to start the second quarter. Jones completed just 4-of-9 passes for 25 yards. The biggest problem here was that Jones was missing open receivers. His first attempt to Saquon Barkley went halfway to Reno. Then came his throws to a rookie speedster:

There were two opportunities in the first quarter alone for Jones to hit Jalin Hyatt in stride for what would have been easy touchdowns and he missed both of them. For a QB who just signed a massive $160 million extension in the offseason, this is unacceptable.

4. QB Tommy DeVito

We'll give Tommy DeVito his props, because for a UDFA out of Illinois, he did what was asked of him. However, the start he had once he was called into action was terrible and wiped away any chances the Giants had of leaving this week with a victory. After making his first completion of the game, DeVito would throw two interceptions, both of which led to consecutive scores for the Raiders that put the Giants in a 24-0 hole.

For the game, DeVito completed 15-of-20 pass attempts for 175 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. It was nice to see DeVito get his first career passing touchdown early in the fourth, but overall, this game left much to be desired and showcased a big problem the Giants are going to have moving forward with Jones missing significant action.

New York simply can't rely on DeVito to play QB every week. While they signed Matt Barkley to the practice squad, we doubt he'd be a much better option. Unfortunately, there's not much for the Giants to do, as few teams can be prepared for both their starter and backup to get injured within three weeks. The return of Tyrod Taylor (Injured Reserve) can't come soon enough.

3. EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux

Coming off a two-week tear in which he racked up five sacks, fans were hopeful that Kayvon Thibodeaux could continue to be a massive part of this defense. Despite this, Thibodeaux was a complete non-factor against the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.

In this game, Thibodeaux racked up just a single tackle. While maybe PFF will register a few pressures for him, it won't change the fact that he didn't do a noteworthy thing during this matchup. The Raiders have a solid offensive line, but for Thibodeaux to be kept in check like this was not only surprising, but infuriating.

Thibodeaux was coming off his three-sack performance vs. the Jets, which included a forced fumble. On the year, he has 8.5 sacks to his name, more than doubling what he was able to produce in his rookie campaign. He'll need to flush this performance and try to be a beast for the showdown against the Cowboys this weekend.

2. OT Evan Neal

In his first game back from injury, Evan Neal managed to disappoint us once again. Similar to Jones, it's for both his poor play, as well for the fact that he got hurt and could miss more time. Neal's game couldn't have started worse, as a false start penalty on 4th-and-inches forced the Giants to punt. Head coach Brian Daboll was furious with him and rightfully so:

Even outside of the injury, this was a rough game for Neal, which was to be expected as I think we all knew the Raiders were going to line Maxx Crosby up over him all game long. While Neal did post some wins vs. Crosby in the second half, his inconsistent play, along with the rest of the line, had DeVito running for his life. Crosby alone had three sacks on the day, with the Raiders putting up eight in total.

Rough play has been a constant theme throughout Neal's sophomore season and fans are starting to get pretty tired of it. It also doesn't help that Neal hasn't been able to stay on the field consistently, but regardless, his play overall has left much to be desired. The former first-round pick isn't getting the job done, period.

1. CB Deonte Banks

After an incredibly strong start to his rookie season, Deonte Banks has really struggled in recent weeks and it's starting to affect the Giants' defense big time. Entering Sunday, Banks had given up 196 yards in the previous two games. Then against the Raiders, he showed some rookie rust that Wink Martindale wasn't hoping for.

Banks was consistently burned by receivers all game long and judging by how well he's played this season, you'd think it would be someone like Davante Adams. Instead, it was Tre Tucker and Jakobi Meyers who did the dirty work. Banks got burned early on a beautiful crosser route by Meyers and after that, you knew it wasn't going to be a good game for him.

While I'm not too concerned with Banks, as he's shown enough flashes early in the season, it still hurt to watch him play this week. Considering how stacked the Cowboys' receiving core is, it could be another rough weekend for the No. 24 overall pick. He's got to clean things up ASAP.
