What does the future have in store for NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones? While plenty of fans are ready to throw in the towel on him as the QB of the future for this team, it doesn't look like Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll will give up on him just yet - or things could change by the NFL Draft.

Regardless, Danny Dimes has made it quite clear that he's going to do everything in his power to come back stronger from his injury so that he can help the Giants win some games. Well, the comeback will officially start on Wednesday, as Jones revealed he's set to have surgery on his torn ACL.

Giants QB Daniel Jones is set to have ACL surgery in New York

After missing several games with a neck injury suffered against the Miami Dolphins, Jones was able to return for the matchup with the Raiders in Las Vegas. However, Jones went down late in the first quarter with a knee injury, but then tried to get back out there for the start of the second quarter.

On the first play, Jones dropped back and immediately fell to the turf after putting pressure on his knee. From that moment, it was feared that the former No. 6 overall pick had suffered a serious injury. By Monday, it had been confirmed that his season was over.

Before Jones was ruled out for the rest of '23, it's hard to argue that his campaign had been quite terrible. After signing his $160 million extension, Jones was expected to play like an elite QB and silence his haters. That never happened, with him, outside of a great second half vs. Arizona, struggling throughout the fall.

On the season, Jones finished with 909 passing yards, a lowly two touchdowns and six interceptions. His level of play has had people begging Schoen to do whatever is needed to draft Caleb Williams or Drake Maye next spring. It's up in the air if that happens, but once surgery is finished for Jones, he'll take his rehab to the next level to try and get himself ready for Week 1 of '24.
