There hasn't been a ton to celebrate for NY Giants fans this year, but goodness, the Week 12 win over the Patriots was desperately needed. With that victory, Big Blue is now 4-8 on the campaign and they can sit back and relax during the BYE week.

In that win over New England, no one can deny the fact that rookie wide receiver Jalin Hyatt was downright electric. Hyatt was a star for the NY offense, putting on a show vs New England. Now, Hyatt is getting some national attention he deserves.

Jalin Hyatt named Rookie of the Week after his massive showing vs. the Patriots

On Thursday, Hyatt was officially named the Pepsi Rookie of the Week and this is an honor that the third-round pick deserved. In that win over the Pats, the speedster hauled in five passes from Tommy DeVito for a career-high 109 yards. It was the first 100-yard game for Hyatt and it came at the right time for him and this team.

Hyatt's day had several highlights. He had multiple long gains, but people can't stop talking about him putting J.C. Jackson on skates. On a short pass from DeVito, Hyatt got the ball in his hands and it looked like he was going to be stopped short of the sticks. Instead, Hyatt put a sweet move on Jackson and he blew right past him:

That was nothing short of incredible. Hyatt hasn't quite lived up to the hype this season, but his low amount of targets throughout the year has been a major disappointment. This was a breakout game for him and now people are ready to see what he can do for the rest of the season. Hyatt has a bright future for this team.

Tommy DeVito passed on more money from the Patriots and Commanders

Need more of a reason to love DeVito, also known as Tommy Cutlets? According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, DeVito had multiple other offers after he went undrafted last spring. The list included the Commanders and Patriots, with New England and Washington both putting more money on the table. Instead of taking the dough, Tommy D chose to ink with the G-Men, his hometown team.

DeVito could have taken the cash, but he knew in his heart that he wanted to play at MetLife Stadium, the same venue where he captured a state title with Don Bosco Prep, a powerhouse in New Jersey. Now, things have worked out pretty well for DeVito, who is 2-1 in his three games starting for the G-Men this fall.

The rookie QB put on a show in the 31-19 win over the Commanders, tossing for three touchdowns. Then last weekend in the 10-7 victory over the Patriots, DeVito threw for 191 yards and a touchdown - that score went to Isaiah Hodgins. Looking ahead to the rest of the campaign, DeVito could remain the starter and potentially earn the QB2 job for 2024. Everything seems to be working out pretty well for him and joining Big Blue is a major reason why.

Carl Banks explains why he left WFAN spot over Kayvon Thibodeaux debate

Elsewhere, remember when Giants legend Carl Banks got into it with WFAN hosts Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata over star pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux? In case you missed it, Tierney and Licata hung up on Banks mid-debate and it was a bad look for them. Shortly after, Banks decided enough was enough and he quit his spot on the show. While speaking on The Michael Kay Show, Banks spoke about his decision.

"I will tell you Michael, the thing that got me was I’m being treated like Carl from Secaucus. I’m not a regular caller, right, and I try to bring things that will try to either make people smarter or more informed about a subject."
Carl Banks

Banks has a point here. He was disrespected in a major way and he didn't have to put up with those two treating him like this. Banks is a Super Bowl winner and a member of the Giants Ring of Honor. So, why did Tierney and Licata treat him like he was some random dude from Jersey? Giants fans were furious then and they still are. Good for Banks to stand up for himself here.
