You can never have enough quality offensive linemen, which is something NY Giants general manager Joe Schoen is quite aware of. After adding multiple hosses this offseason, including second-round pick John Michael Schmitz, there's still some work to be done for the unit.

So, could the Giants end up signing a free agent guard with more than 60 starts under his belt? That's what ESPN's Bill Barnwell thinks, as he has predicted the Giants to sign former Denver Broncos starter Dalton Rinser to a one-year deal. Hey, we would be ALL for this.

Could the NY Giants ink fifth-year OG Dalton Rinser to a deal?

"A one-year deal with the Giants in the $5 million range would make sense for both parties; Brian Daboll’s team would get a veteran protecting (Daniel) Jones and security if (Joshua) Ezeudu struggles to return, while Risner would play in a well-regarded offense and earn a shot at a long-term deal after 2023, either with the Giants or elsewhere."

Rinser, a 6-5, 312-pounder, spent the past four seasons with the Broncos. During that time, he appeared in 62 games for the AFC West side, all starts. Barnwell thinks a one-year deal worth around $5 million could be enough to get things done here.

The Giants still need to get creative with cap space, but the hope is that a multi-year deal with Saquon Barkley can get done. Saquon has a $10.1 million cap hit for 2023 because of the franchise tag, but that number will drop if an extension is finalized.

There's also the contract situation with Leonard Williams. Everyone is hoping a restructure can get done with the stud defensive tackle - this would also help out Schoen's cap situation in a massive way. Rinser is a 27-year-old lineman who could make a strong impact for the OL room too.

If the deal is cheap enough and he's ready to push for a starting spot, $5 million would be a great deal on both sides. Who knows, Barnwell could be on to something here.
