Jets vs. Giants prediction and odds for NFL preseason Week 3 (Spoil Rodgers Debut)
The New York Jets will get their first look at Aaron Rodgers this presason and they are big favorites against the Giants. That means the Giants may provide some value and might spoil Rodgers' debut.
By Josh Yourish

The New York Jets have been very busy this preseason after playing in the Hall of Fame Game. This will be their fourth preseason game and last week was their worst performance, losing 13-6 to the Buccaneers. Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle have led them to a 1-2 record this preseason. However, this week Aaron Rodgers will be suiting up for the first time.
Now, the Jets have their final matchup, this one against the New York Giants who are 1-1. Last week, the Giants beat the Panthers 21-19 mostly behind Tyrod Taylor. Though Daniel Jones did dominate in the snaps he got to start the game.
Will we see Jones again this week or will it be backups facing Rodgers' Jets? It’ll be the first time we get to see the 40-year-old QB on the field in a new shade of green.
Will the Jets or Giants come out on top? Either way, you should take advantage of this offer in the FanDuel Sportsbook. Sign up and bet $5 on this New York-New York matchup to get $200 in bonus bets, win or lose. Plus you'll get $100 off NFL Sunday Ticket to watch all the action this year.

Jets vs. Giants prediction and pick
The Jets are favored with Rodgers taking his first preseason snaps in this one. He’ll want to get on the same page as his young skill players on offense, something he never did his final season in Green Bay. However, I don’t expect him to play a lot of snaps in a preseason game. That’s not something that seems necessary for the future Hall-of-Famer, so I think the Jets are being overvalued in this one.
The Jets will eventually have to turn the keys over to Wilson and Boyle again. So, even if Rodgers leads two perfect touchdown drives, which is unlikely, the Jets will struggle to score after that. Wilson was most impressive with his legs last week not his arm and that’s not something I’m expecting to continue, it was just two runs for 41 yards last week.
The Jets were heavily outgained by Tampa Bay last week, 331-281 and the Bucs played Kyle Trask and John Wolford at quarterback and didn’t have any snaps from Chris Godwin or Mike Evans. The Giants don’t have any great receivers, but they are deep with guys who will get preseason snaps like Jalin Hyatt and Parris Campbell.
Overall I like the depth of the Giants much better and just see the six-point spread as a Rodgers' overreaction.
