The New York Giants started the new league year off in a big way, making plays in free agency, and adding star power through trades. Now with the NFL Draft less than a month away, the team will look to solidify their roster.

Since the end of the 2022 campaign, the Giants have already addressed several needs. Through the additions of high-profile players in Bobby Okereke and Darren Waller, and smaller signings such as Parris Campbell, Bobby McCain, and Rakeem Nunez-Roches, this roster is already set to be better than it was last season.

But even with the moves that the Giants have made so far, there is still room for improvement. With a total of 10 picks in the draft, this team could look to add playmakers on both sides of the ball. With that being said, let's see how the Giants could address the roster in our latest seven-round mock draft.

NY Giants Round 1 Pick: Boston College WR Zay Flowers

Through free agency, the Giants have addressed the wide receiver position in a big way. With the return of Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard, and Wan'Dale Robinson alongside Isaiah Hodgins next season, the group should be prepared to compete. But with both Shepard and Robinson working back from season-ending injuries, the team could still look to add a playmaker at the position. There could be no better fit than Boston College's Zay Flowers at No. 25 overall.

In recent weeks, Joe Schoen and the Giants front office have shown a clear interest in the Boston College pass-catcher. Between a meeting the night before his Pro Day, and a heavy presence as he took the field, the team is doing their due diligence on the young receiver.

During his time at Boston College, Flowers looked elite. Over four seasons, he recorded 200 receptions for 3,056 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns. On the ground, he added 345 rushing yards and two touchdowsn on 57 carries.

This past season, Flowers took his game to a new level. While being the go-to option in the Boston College passing attack, he set career-highs across the boad. In total, he recorded 78 receptions for 1,077 receiivng yards and 12 touchdowns.

While Flowers is not the biggest wide reciever prosepct in this years class at 5-9 and 182 pounds, he can still make an impact anywhere on the field. In 2022, he took the field for 506 passing downs. On these plays, he lined up in the slot just 166 times, while going out wide for 337 snaps.

With Robinson on the roster, the Giants already have a playmaker in the slot, but his presence shouldn't stop the Giants from adding a player of Flowers' caliber. Robinson likely won't be ready for the start of the season, and Robinson brings a level of flexiblity that team is in need of. His addition to the offense, alongside the rest of the pass-catchers assembled, would not only elevate this group but would also give Jones the best offensive weapons of his career.

NY Giants Round 2 Pick: Kansas State CB Julius Brents

The Giants have a legitimate need at the cornerback position. While Adoree' Jackson will be returning as the CB1, they are lacking firepower at CB2. If the team is looking to address the position, a player such as Kansas State's Julius Brents could be their guy at No. 57 overall.

After spending two seasons at Iowa, Brents made the move to Kansas State in 2021. Upon his arrival, the young cornerback took his game to new heights. Over 13 games, he recorded 49 total tackles, three tackles for loss, two defended passes and one interception.

This past season, Brents once again was a driving force of the Kansas State defense. While appearing in 14 games, the senior cornerback recorded 45 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, four defended passes, four interceptions, and one forced fumble.

Brents plays with a physical style that could fit perfectly into this Giants defense. While coming in at 6-3 and 198 pounds, he also has the size to match up with even the bigger targets in the NFL.

While Brents is not the perfect prospect, he has potential, and could very well develop into a star at the position. Pairing him alongside Jackson could give the Giants cornerback room a reliable one-two punch.

NY Giants Round 3 Pick: Ohio State C Luke Wypler

With the loss of both Jon Feliciano and Nick Gates, the Giants have a need on the offensive line, specifically at the center position. While Schoen has stated that he feels comfortable with the players already on the roster, the team could still look to add a potential starter. With the addition of Ohio State's Luke Wypler, the team would solidify the center position for the foreseeable future.

During his time at Ohio State, Wypler was dominant. After taking the starting job in 2021, he looked to be one of the best centers in the nation. In 2021, Wypler was on the field for a total of 516 pass-blocking snaps. According to PFF, he allowed just one quarterback hit, seven pressures, and zero sacks.

This past season, Wypler delivered another elite season. Over 449 offensive snaps, he allowed zero quarterback hits, seven hurries, and just one sack. If a player of Wypler's caliber is on the board in the third round, he could be the perfect addition at No. 89 overall. Not only would he fill a major need for the offense, but he would step in and contribute from day one.

New York Giants Round 4 Pick: Colby Wooden DL Auburn

In recent years, the Giants have made an effort to put together a defensive front with elite upside. With Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Azeez Ojulari, and Leonard Williams leading the charge, the unit is arguably one of the best in the NFL. But with injury concerns throughout the group and a need for depth at the position, the team could still add firepower to the unit. Auburn's Colby Wooden would be just that at No. 128 overall.

Over his four seasons at Auburn, Wooden developed into a reliable playmaker on the defensive front. He also gained experience throughout the unit, spending time in several different positions. In total, Wooden took the field in 40 games while at Auburn. During this time, he totaled 153 total tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, and three forced fumbles.

This past season, Wooden was once again a versatile piece on the defense. Over 651 snaps, he spent time at nose tackle, defensive tackle, and defensive end according to PFF. Even while moving around the defense, he recorded 45 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks.

With the versatility that Wooden brings, he could be a target for this defense. Not only could he make an impact for the group, but he could also bring depth to the entire unit.

NY Giants Round 5 Pick: Dee Winters LB TCU

The Giants addressed the linebacker room in a big way through the signing of Okereke. They will also see the return of several young players in 2023, including Micah McFadden and Darrian Beavers, who were both drafted in 2022. Even with a group with upside, the Giants could still add more. TCU's Dee Winters could give the room another playmaker at the position at No. 160 overall.

While at TCU, Winters gained experience at both inside and outside linebacker. In addition, he also spent time in the slot. In each of these areas, he proved capable of making plays. Over four seasons and 45 games, Winters recorded 246 total tackles, 160 solo tackles, 33.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, seven defended passes and three interceptions.

In 2022, as TCU made their way to a National Championship, Winters played the best football of his career. While appearing in 15 games, he recorded 79 total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one interception, and two defended passes.

Winters has had success with both his speed and ability to break down a play. Adding his playmaking ability alongside Okereke could help solidify the linebacker room for the foreseeable future.

NY Giants Round 5 Pick: Mohamed Ibrahim RB Minnesota

By making the move to franchise tag Saquon Barkley, the Giants will have their star playmaker back in 2023. The team also brought back veteran Matt Breida and will have Gary Brightwell in the fold. With Barkley's future with the team past this season still unclear, the team could still look to add another running back. Based on how he played during his time at Minnesota, Mohamed Ibrahim could be an ideal fit at No. 172 overall.

Since arriving on campus in 2018, Ibrahim proved to be Minnesota's lead back. When healthy, he was the driving force of the backfield over the past five seasons. Through 40 games and 867 carries, he rushed for 4,668 yards and 53 touchdowns.

This past season, just one year removed from suffering a torn Achilles, Ibrahim at times looked to be one of the best running backs in the nation. He set career-highs across the board, rushing for 1,665 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns.

At 5-8 and 203 pounds, Ibrahim is not the biggest running back, but he is not afraid of contract and can test even the best defenses. Adding Ibrahim to this Barkley-led rushing attack could give the Giants another physical running back who can wear down defenses.

New York Giants Round 6 Pick: Ronnie Hickman S Ohio State

The loss of safety Julian Love could be one of the more difficult losses that the Giants faced this offseason. Dane Belton showed legitimate potential in Year 1 and could take the starting spot alongside Xavier McKinney, but the team could still look to add more depth to the group. Ohio State's Ronnie Hickman could very well be one of the draft's more underrated safeties and could fit nicely into this New York defense at No. 209 overall.

While at Ohio State, Hickman moved around the Buckeyes defense. After taking over as a starter in 2021, he became one of the more consistent pieces of the unit. In his first season as a starter, he recorded 99 total tackles, 54 solo tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and two interceptions.

Following his strong 2021 campaign, Hickman was once again a playmaker in 2022. Over 13 games, he recorded 53 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, seven defended passes and one interception.

While Hickman isn't the most polished safety in the draft, he has a high upside. If he is still on the board in the sixth round, he could be worth bringing in. Not only would he be a solid depth addition, but he has all the tools to develop into a reliable starter at the position.

NY Giants Round 7 Pick: Henry Bainivalu OG Washington

In recent seasons, the Giants have made an effort to address the interior of the offensive line. Both Joshua Ezeudu and Marcus McKethan were sidelined during their rookie season in 2022 but will be back in the fold this season and competing for starting jobs. As previously noted, the Giants lost both Gates and Feliciano. The team could still look to add depth and Washington's Henry Bainivalu would bring just that at No. 240 overall.

While at Washington, Bainivalu served as the team's starting right guard. During the 2022 season, he took the field for 545 passing downs. In total, he allowed just one sack, four quarterback hits, and eight total pressures. Given that he can adapt to the NFL game, he could develop into a strong option on the interior.

NY Giants Round 7 Pick: Malik Cunningham QB Louisville

Outside of Jones and Tyrod Taylor, the Giants currently have no other quarterbacks on the roster. Louisville's Malik Cunningham could be the ideal addition to this group. While at Lousiville, Cunningham regularly used both his arms and leg to make plays. Over five seasons, he threw for 9,660 yards, 70 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions. On the ground, he added 3,179 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns.

In a Giants offense that relies so heavily on the run, Cunningham could quickly learn and develop in the offense. He could also give the team much-needed depth at the position. We like him at No. 243 overall here.

NY Giants Round 7 Pick: Cameron Young DT Mississippi State

With Williams's future with the Giants still unclear, the team could be looking to add another young face to the defensive front. Mississippi State's Cameron Young is a force at defensive tackle and could develop into a solid rotational player. If he's on the board at No. 254 overall, he'd be a great get.

While at Mississippi State, Young appeared in 34 total games. He recorded 110 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, and two sacks during this time. If the team is looking to solidify the defensive front, Young would make a ton of sense in this spot.
