For a little while there, it looked like we had seen the last of wideout Isaiah Hodgins in a NY Giants jersey. Formerly of the Buffalo Bills, Hodgins arrived in East Rutherford in November of 2022 and made a big-time impact for the offense.

Last season, though, Hodgins didn't live up to the lofty expectations that were put in front of him. With Joe Schoen choosing not to tender him, it opened the door for him to look elsewhere and find a new home for '24. That won't happen, though, as the Giants were able to agree to terms with him on a one-year deal.

The Giants have re-signed WR Isaiah Hodgins to a one-year contract

Had Hodgins been tendered, it would have cost Schoen around $3 million. While the details of his contract haven't been revealed yet, it's safe to assume the third-year Giants GM was able to get things done with the WR for a cheaper amount.

Hodgins, a Bills' sixth-round pick in 2020, broke out onto the scene for the Giants late in '22. He of course had his monster game against the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round, hauling in eight passes from Daniel Jones for 105 yards and a touchdown.

This past campaign, Hodgins was limited to only 21 receptions for 230 yards and three touchdowns. This came in 17 games. The year before, he appeared in only eight games for the G-Men, finishing with 33 receptions for 351 yards and four touchdowns.

So, yes, he did take a bit of a step back, but the Giants are in serious need of depth at wideout, which is a big reason why Hodgins, a WR4, will be back with the squad. This news came on the same day that it was announced Parris Campbell inked with the Eagles. Campbell wasn't expected to return, as he was a huge letdown for the team. Now, however, we know Hodgins will be back, which feels like a solid win for Schoen and Co.
