Things are now official between the NY Giants and first-round pick Deonte Banks - he has put the pen to paper on his first NFL contract. There was no doubt this was going to happen in the near future, with general manager Joe Schoen over the moon when he landed Banks at No. 24 overall.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the two sides agreed to their terms for a four-year deal that will pay the young defensive back $13.6 million. That $13.6 million is fully guaranteed. Now, we only have to wait a little longer to see what Banks will be able to do in training camp.

It goes without saying, but people are fired up about Banks' potential working under defensive coordinator Wink Martindale. The 6-1, 200-pounder is exactly the kind of defensive back who can thrive working with someone like the veteran DC.

Banks was a stud for the University of Maryland and he also plays with an incredible amount of swagger and confidence. Last season, he finished the 2022 campaign with 38 total tackles, one interception and eight pass deflections.

Depth at cornerback has been an issue for the Giants in recent years, but Banks surely has a ton of potential lining up on the outside opposite of Adoree' Jackson. These two CBs can be quite the one-two punch for the Giants, Martindale and head man Brian Daboll moving forward.

Banks was fired up when Big Blue called to let him know that his future would be in the NFC East. The division is loaded with plenty of talented pass-catchers, but Banks will be ready to answer the call in trying to slow them down on Sundays. Now that he has signed his rookie deal, the focus now turns to the '23 campaign for the youngster.
