Who in the world saw this coming? With the NY Giants opening training camp in only a few days, fans were hoping for a veteran inside linebacker to be a priority for general manager Joe Schoen. Instead, the second-year GM is still looking to improve the receivers room.

In a major stunner, the Giants have agreed to a new deal with veteran wideout Cole Beasley, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. In late April, Beasley said he'd retire if a team didn't ink him before camp. At the buzzer, the G-Men have kept his playing days going:

NY Giants sign Cole Beasley in reunion with Brian Daboll

Beasley is quite familiar with Schoen and head man Brian Daboll, as the three were all together previously with the Buffalo Bills. Beasley almost signed with the Giants last season, but he never made his way to town.

Now, the wideout will join a crowded wide receivers room, which already has plenty of slot options for quarterback Daniel Jones. Beasley turned 34 years old in April and his best playing days are 100 percent behind him. However, Schoen is giving him a shot to do his thing at camp to see if he can make the 53-man roster.

Beasley has been in the league since 2012, spending the first seven years of his career with the Cowboys. He then suited up for the Bills and Bucs. Beasley retired once, but ended up making his way back to the Bills late last season.

Now, he's going to see how things go with the Giants before potentially hanging up his cleats for good. All of a sudden, he's going to be a player for fans to keep an eye on once camp gets underway for Big Bliue.
