Panthers vs. Giants prediction and odds for NFL Preseason Week 2 (Bet on New York)
Even if Danny Dimes does not play the New York defense should be good enough against Carolina.
By Josh Yourish

The New York Giants didn’t win their preseason opener, but it went a lot better than the Carolina Panthers preseason debut. The Giants fell to the Lions 21-16, but the Panthers lost to the Jets 27-0.
Now, the Panthers and Giants will meet up in New Jersey for Week 2 of the NFL Preseason. We’ll certainly see more of Bryce Young, but Daniel Jones may not be taking many snaps in this one.
Let’s get into the odds and see if the Panthers can even put any points on the board this week.

Panthers vs. Giants prediction and pick
Carolina has a lot of young quarterbacks that need playing time, even beyond Young. Typically that’s a good thing for preseason bettors because it means there is talent at the most important position on the field, but in this case it may not be. Matt Corral took the rest of the snaps behind Young who went 4/6 for 21 yards. That means the Panthers don’t have any QBs taking snaps in the preseason with meaningful NFL experience.
Carolina won’t be able to run much of an offense because beyond Young and Corrall, they don’t have a whole lot at the skill positions. Spencer Brown was decent, rushing for 34 yards on eight carries, but Derek Wright was the leading receiver with three catches. Maybe Adam Thielen and D.J. Chark will play more this week, but that still doesn’t inspire much confidence.
The Giants got some nice work from Tommy Devito last week. He also had a decent group of receivers to throw to and New York will likely be playing more of their starters in this one, maybe even Danny Dimes.
The Panthers allowed five sacks last week and the Giants have a solid pass-rush. It’s not as deep as the other New York team, but behind Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence they still have Azeez Ojulari who will get some snaps. Even Habakkuk Baldonado, the rookie out of Pitt had a sack last week.
I’ll take the Giants to win and cover in this one.
