It was another humiliating loss for the New York Giants on Monday Night Football, as they were embarrassed by the Seattle Seahawks, 24-3. The defense could not tackle, the Giants offense looked sloppy, Daniel Jones was awful and the offensive line failed to protect Jones giving up 11 sacks.

Now at 1-3, this season for the Giants is not looking like the one they had last year when they won nine games and took down the Vikings in the Wild Card Round. This team just simply isn't good and the play has been rough, especially from their $160 million quarterback.

While we are only four games into the season, this season for Big Blue looks like it can't be turned around. Here's why:

3. The struggling NY Giants defense

The Giants defense this season has been just like the offense, a flat-out disaster. Yes, they do blitz and get after the quarterback a lot, but that does not mean they're still the top elite defensive squad we thought they would be.

Thus far this season, the Giants have only sacked the opposing quarterback three times, have yet to force a turnover and have given up more than 20 points in all four of the games they've played. They have also given up over 400 yards per game and most importantly, they can't seem to tackle and it showed in their game against Seattle on Monday night.

On a simple underneath throw on 3rd-and-10 for the Seahawks, the Giants quite simply showed a lack of effort to tackle tight end Noah Fant. Fant made it look easy running down the sidelines for a huge 51-yard gain that set up and eventual touchdown.

Yes, the offense is something to be concerned about being outscored 64-3 in the Giants two home games, but this defense is not looking that sharp. And with top players like Kayvon Thibodeaux, Dexter Lawrence and Azeez Ojulari not playing at the level we thought they would, it's a cause for concern.

2. The Giants offensive line is a joke

I'm sorry, but what a horrendous performance by the Giants offensive line against the Seahawks. Fans have never seen anything like this and even though Andrew Thomas was inactive for the second straight week, were they ever that sharp anyway?

On the night against the Seahawks, they gave up an absurd 11 sacks and made Jones run for his life practically all night, giving him no time at all to take any sort of shot downfield. How can we expect Jones to live up to his contract when he's not getting the proper protection?

What else can you say except the fact that the Giants offensive line has been an unmitigated disaster? If you can't protect your quarterback, you won't be expected to win games in the NFL, especially when you're in the same division as the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders, who have many skill players on the defensive side of the ball.

The Giants offensive line has been the team's biggest Achilles heel for quite some time and after Monday night's total meltdown, there's no reason to believe the guys up front will get things right moving forward.

1. The Giants remaining schedule is quite tough

At 1-3, it's going to be a hard hill to climb for any team looking to make a playoff push. And for the Giants with the way their schedule looks, we can't see a scenario where the team is able to turn their season around. The schedule the rest of the way is pretty dang tough, with the next two opponents being Super Bowl contenders.

The Giants are set to play both the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills on the road and there could be a real chance that after six games the Giants will sit at 1-5 for the third time in four years. Overall, the Giants are scheduled to play some tough competition besides the Bills and Dolphins, as they will be playing the Commanders, Cowboys, Raiders and Jets after that. Despite some of those teams' lackluster records, they look a lot more competitive than the Giants.

Not a lot of people thought the Giants would be 1-3 at this point in the campaign, but no one thought their losses would be total embarrassments. The defeat vs. the Seahawks was a major setback across the board. Fans are trying to keep their spirits up, but from our chair, it just seems like NY doesn't have a chance to bounce back.
