NFL cut day has come and gone, with teams finally getting things down to a 53-man roster. Unfortunately for some, this meant finding out the news that they won't be in action once Week 1 arrives for their respective teams.
The NY Giants were tasked with several big decisions this offseason, and it appears that they may not be done. With the free-agent market now restocked with added talent, general manager Joe Schoen could improve Big Blue's roster before their Week 1 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. With that being said, let's take a look at three recently-cut players the G-Men should target:
3. OL Michael Jordan
If there's one thing that the New York Giants can never have enough of, it is offensive linemen. It won't surprise me if Schoen adds experienced depth to the line before Week 1. It appears Big Blue will be carrying at least nine o-linemen on their 53-man roster - but could someone else replace a hoss currently on the roster?
The Carolina Panthers released guard Michael Jordan before Tuesday's NFL roster cut deadline at 4 p.m. ET. And, no, it is not the MJ you're thinking of, but this one may be a good fit for Big Blue in 2023 if Schoen decides to give him a call.

Jordan was drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Ohio State by the Cincinnati Bengals. In two seasons, he would make 27 appearances and 19 starts at left guard before being waived by the organization.
The Carolina Panthers claimed Jordan off of waivers in 2021, and he would make an immediate impact. The veteran showed off his potential during the first half of the season by starting 10 games before struggling in pass protection, which resulted in taking over backup responsibilities for all 17 games last season. His struggles continued as he allowed two sacks in 54 offensive snaps.
While he did receive many opportunities with the Panthers this preseason, his pass protection issues continued to show. Although Jordan won't be on Carolina's 53-man roster on Week 1, he could improve his struggles and find a new home sooner rather than later. He'd make sense for NY.
2. OT Connor Galvin
The Giants may have one of the best offensive tackle duos in the league with Andrew Thomas and Evan Neal ahead of their Week 1 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Still, they can continuously improve their depth at the position.
Big Blue fans expected the team to keep four tackles after Tuesday's NFL roster cut deadline and were surprised with Schoen's decision to keep Matt Peart, who struggled in a recent preseason matchup against the Jets, over Tyre Phillips. The team also decided to keep second-year player Marcus McKethan, who missed his rookie campaign with a torn ACL. So, with the uncertainty of the Giants' backups at tackle, they could pursue recently-cut players.
One name that Schoen and the G-Men could pursue is Connor Galvin, who the Detroit Lions recently released. He has been playing confidently throughout training camp and was considered the highest-rated offensive lineman by Pro Football Focus. While Galvin would not earn starting duties for the Giants at tackle, he does make sense for the team to look further into.
Galvin signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor. Last season, the sixth-year senior started all 13 games at left tackle and earned first-team All-Big 12 honors. In 2021, Galvin was named the Big 12's Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Let's just say that if the Giants give Galvin an opportunity and he can succeed in East Rutherford over time, they may have found a hidden gem that nobody is talking about. Galvin did sign with the Lions practice squad, and although the Giants didn't claim him, they could sign him to the 53-man roster if Schoen changes his mind and thinks he'd be a good fit. From our chair, this would be an upgrade over the backup OTs in town.
1. CB Bradley Roby
One of the most surprising moves from Tuesday's NFL roster cut deadline was the New Orleans Saints decision to release veteran defensive back Bradley Roby, who was penciled in as the team's starting slot corner at the start of training camp.
He was taking all the starter's precautions, including resting during the Saints' preseason matchups and preparing for a significant role with the defense in 2023. So, this decision was most likely made for the Saints to clear salary cap space.
The former Super Bowl champion left the Saints organization with a proper farewell message on his personal Twitter account following the news, wishing his former teammates good luck this season and stating that the fans deserve to be winners.
Goodluck to my brothers and the Saints fans y’all deserve to be winners ! #WhoDat ⚜️

Roby spent the last two seasons in New Orleans, where he had an interception, 10 passes defended, and two fumble recoveries in 11 starts with the team. Before that, the veteran spent two seasons with the Houston Texans, where he made 75 tackles, three interceptions, and 15 passes defended. But, Roby was most known for his time with the Denver Broncos.
Roby was drafted 31st overall by the Broncos in the 2014 NFL Draft; he would spend his first five professional seasons with the team and even helped win a championship in 2015. During Super Bowl 50, Roby made two tackles and deflected three passes in the Broncos' victory over the Carolina Panthers.
Roby intends to return to the NFL for his 10th season in 2023, but for now, the veteran cornerback must find a new home within a week until the season starts.
