If you were to tell me that the NY Giants would be on a three-game winning streak and have a chance at making the playoffs after the 2-8 start, I wouldn't have believed it. However, with the 5-8 record, Big Blue fans can keep the postseason dreams alive.
After starting quarterback Daniel Jones went down with a torn ACL injury in Week 9, head coach Brian Daboll had to call on a new signal caller to run the offense. Enter Tommy DeVito, who after a tough early stretch is now looking quite sharp with the ball in his hands.
Since No. 15 has taken the field for the Giants, he has provided the team with some life after many fans thought the team should tank for a good draft pick and start over. DeVito quickly silenced those fans, becoming the first undrafted rookie quarterback in NFL history to win three straight starts without throwing an interception. In games that he has started, the G-Men are 3-1 and 2-0 at MetLife Stadium, which happens to be a couple of miles away from where DeVito grew up and still lives with his family. DeVito has proven he belongs back with the team in 2023. Here are five plays that fans should keep in mind for the rest of the fall and winter:
5. DeVito makes three Packers miss on 26-yard run
Entering this past week, we knew DeVito had a great arm after displaying his throwing capabilities over the past two games against the Commanders and Patriots; however, Giants fans learned about the rookie quarterback's mobility on MNF when he showed off some fancy footwork and made a couple of Packers defensive players miss to set up multiple Giants scoring opportunities.

On Monday night, the undrafted rookie quarterback rushed for 71 yards on 10 attempts, including a 26-yard run in the third quarter to put the Giants on the one-yard line, setting up a Saquon Barkley rushing touchdown to take the lead.
DeVito averaged 7.1 yards per rush and showed his ability to drive down the field, allowing the Giants to win this 24-22 thriller over the Packers. DeVito's mobility is definitely an underrated part of his game.
4. 41-yard pass to Jalin Hyatt along the sideline against the Patriots
One of the most impressive deep throws we have seen throughout the last four games from the rookie quarterback came in the third quarter of the Giants' Week 12 victory over the New England Patriots when DeVito connected with fellow rookie Jalin Hyatt for 41 yards along the sideline.
While the Giants didn't necessarily score on that drive, Hyatt's reception built momentum, and the G-Men went on to win another thriller 10-7 over New England. This season, Hyatt has 19 receptions, 343 yards, and 18.1 yards per catch.

The rookie wideout's best game came against the Patriots, where Hyatt had five catches for 109 yards. We can only hope the rookie continues to develop with the Giants and build up chemistry with DeVito over time to emerge as one of the league's top deep threats.
3. Both TD passes to Saquon Barkley in win over the Commanders
It's pretty clear that over the last few weeks, Giants running back Saquon Barkley has thrived off the opportunities he is getting from his new quarterback, and it seems the chemistry on and off the field between the two has grown quickly. The Barkley-DeVito duo was certainly out in the Giants' 31-19 victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 11.
The victory over the Commanders allowed DeVito to earn his first career win as the Giants' starting quarterback. A significant reason why the G-Men were successful was the help of their star running back. While DeVito was lights out, throwing for 246 yards and three touchdowns, Saquon had two of those touchdowns and was simply unstoppable for the Commanders' defense.

The first touchdown was on the Giants' third drive of the game and it was a 24-yard pass to Barkley to give Big Blue a 7-0 lead and open up the scoring. It was an impressive play for Saquon to make, as he was able to hold on to the ball in double coverage and made the catch on the way down - he managed to keep both feet in bounds for an early score.
The second Barkley touchdown came at the beginning of the fourth quarter, and it was a five-yard pass from DeVito to give the Giants a 21-12 lead. The play was set up by a Barkley 36-yard run at the end of the third quarter and a Daniel Bellinger 26-yard reception to open up the fourth. The second touchdown was just as impressive as Barkley's first and provided the Giants with insurance points to hold onto the lead towards the end of the game.
2. 32-yard pass to Wan'Dale Robinson to set up winning field goal against the Packers
The play that won the Giants their most recent game against the Packers on Monday night was a DeVito 32-yard pass to Wan'Dale Robinson to set up a game-winning 37-yard field goal attempt for Randy Bullock with time expiring on the clock. Robinson's catch put Bullock and the Giants in great field position, which allowed the Giants to keep their winning streak alive.

Before the play, the Giants had been driving down the field with a five-point lead until Saquon fumbled the ball on the Green Bay 15 yard line, which led to Packers' quarterback Jordan Love responding with a two-minute drive ending in a Malik Heath touchdown, giving his team the lead.
With the Packers ahead 22-21 and 1:33 remaining in regulation, DeVito and the Giants went back to work. Big Blue was on their own 46-yard line and still needed more yards to get into field goal range to set up Bullock. Then, Tommy Cutlets stepped up with the game on the line to connect with Robinson for 32 yards. It seems like every time the Giants are down late in the game and look to be out, DeVito has another trick up his sleeve to give the G-Men a legitimate chance to win.
1. Isaiah Hodgins 8-yard touchdown against the Packers
One of the most impressive plays of Tommy Cutlet's tenure with the Giants came this past Monday against the Packers. With Big Blue ahead 14-13 late in the third quarter and the Giants threatening on Green Bay's 8-yard line, the rookie quarterback scrambled out of pressure and connected with Isaiah Hodgins for a toe-tap catch in the corner of the end zone to extend the Giants' lead.

While Hodgins' ability to make the play and get two feet in bounds with great coverage from Green Bay's secondary was awe-inspiring, DeVito's throw was even more stunning, as he escaped the pressure from the Packers' defensive line. The rookie quarterback's throw had to be perfect; otherwise, Hodgins would have been out of bounds, and the Giants would have to decide what to do on fourth down.
The Tommy Cutlets story keeps getting better week after week for the New York Giants and Big Blue fans; let's hope this run continues and the undrafted rookie quarterback can help the G-Men clinch a playoff spot. The undrafted rookie quarterback continues to make these show-stopping plays, keeping the Giants competitive in every game. DeVito will undoubtedly be a player to watch on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, but regardless of the outcome, DeVito has become a fan-favorite and it seems Giants fans wouldn't mind him staying with the team beyond this season.
