Giant News on the Waiver Front

A big blue Thursday morning to all!

Yesterday, the Giants claimed kick returner Chris Davis off of waivers from the Bengals, Chris Davis was a 4th round pick in 2007 of the Tennessee Titans who hasn’t been able to stay healthy or produce in his short time in the league.  Can’t blame Jerry for taking a stab at a reclamation project, but Davis faces an uphill battle to make the roster as the Giants have depth at the wide receiver position (did I really just say that?) and Davis is primarily being brought in for his work on special teams, most notably in the punt return game where he has averaged 9.1 yards on punt returns and 26 yards on kickoff returns.  Not overly impressive numbers, but Davis will get a shot with big blue.

We are now a little more than one month away from the start of training camp and the Giants roster is full at 80 men with the signing of Davis, expect two players to be released once JPP and Linval “the Anvil” Joseph are signed and delivered.  No news is good news, nice to see big Albert Haynesworth continue to make headlines for all of the wrong reasons, will be interesting to see how Haynesworth is received by his teammates and his coach once training camp begins.  And, the expectations for the Jets continue to rise, Coughlin continues to enjoy the fact that his team remains motivated, under the radar.  Stay Blue!
