Giants Game plan for 2011-2012 season

Well after that horrible preseason game and listening to Eli’s comments afterwards there is hope for a winning season. The Giants Defense accumulated 50 turnovers (34 forced fumbles, 16 interceptions) as well as 46 sacks (2nd NFC). These numbers are outrageous for a team who won 10 games and missed the playoffs. Eli’s play early on finally signaled to fans that when he knows a sack is coming just throw it away or on the ground towards a receiver. If Eli can managed the game and move the chains without taking any major risks also giving the defense some rest, there is no reason to believe the Giants should have any major drop off. No major changes to the defense this year besides losing Mr. Cofield. If your defense can produce 50 turnovers and 46 sacks does the Giants offense really need to be anything close to explosive? Remember it was the Giants running game that struggle to be consistent last season despite Bradshaw’s 1200 yards. It was the 25 interceptions and 9 lost fumbles from the Giants offense that kept a few teams in the game. The Game plan for 2011-12 season is simple take care of the football and let the defense win the game, sounds pretty lame but the 2004 Steelers, 2001 Ravens, 2003 Buccaneers; all had a poor offense but managed a title with a turnover producing defense.
