With kick-off a little more than an hour away, here are some things to watch for in tonight’s game against the Jets at Met Life Stadium:
- Matt Dodge versus Steve Weatherford (The organization wants Dodge to win this battle. If he remains consistent in tonights’ game, I believe he will be named the opening day punter)
- Tight Ends (Beckum has done very little in the first two games. Pascoe has proven to be a good blocker and nice H back. Ballard really has not been given a large role in the offensive. I still believe the GIANTS will be looking for a TE when cuts are made in the next 24 hours).
- Aaron Ross at CB (He is now the starting CB. He has to show something tonight when he goes up against Plax/Holmes. This is an area of concern for the GIANTS and Ross is not in the position to be taking anything for granted).
- Offensive Line (They got into a good flow against the Bears and hopefully this continues tonight against the Jets. Watch Baas to see his ability to call out blocking duties at the line).
- Secondary Play (Webster, Ross, Rolle, and Phillips all will start tonight. They need to show an ability to talk to each other and adjust at the line. Sanders was released today by the Patriots and I could see the GIANTS making a play for him to add quality depth).
