#53 Cut Down Special

The final week of #53 is upon us. Today, by 8pm the New York Football GIANTS need to have their roster set. Tom Coughlin reported that today is a “three advil kind of day.” I would not want to be in his shoes.

Over the weeks we have looked the GIANTS who I believe have been on the bubble for making the team (Dodge, Brown, G. Watson, Jernigan, Cruz, Reynaud, Tynes, etc…). We’ll today ladies and gentlemen I present you with who I believe are the last five GIANTS who WILL be cut. IE these are players 54-58 on the depth chart. I have researched the net, listened to the WFAN and ESPN1050 and read the papers; here we go:

Roster Spot 54: Steve Weatherford: Dodge and him were even during camp. Dodge is younger, cheaper, and can be taught (eventually) how to kick the ball inside the 20. Weatherford CAN NOT be taught how to have a strong leg.

Roster Spot 55: Sage Rosenfels: You got sick and then hurt. You do not know the offensive as well as Carr, you cost more money than Carr, and your older than Carr. Sorry your the odd man out.

Roster Spot 56: DJ Ware: Andrew Brown and Da’Rel Scott simply out performed you in camp. I do not know what the GIANTS see in you, but I do not see a roster spot in your future.

Roster Spot 57: Darius Reynaud: Jernigan, Scott, Hixon, and Ross could all return kicks and punts better than you. Hixon, Crux, Jernigan, and Clayton are better at wide out than you. Sorry no room.

Roster Spot 58: Rhys Lloyd: IF and I mean if you would of had a better game in New England I would of been writing Tynes name here. I haven’t met a GIANTS fan yet who likes Tynes as a kicker. We do not have room for two kickers as I see it. However, if Tynes gets hurt again I would bring Lloyd back.

There ya go, my final fives GIANTS who do not make the team. I fully expect the GIANTS to be looking for Special Teams, Secondary, OL, and hopefully Kicker help after cuts are made.
