Giants Morning Coffee- Sept. 12th “Week 1 Edition”
By Ed Roberts
After months of waiting, Giants football finally returned on Sunday as the Giants took on the Redskins on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
— Joe Montana..errr I mean Rex Grossman completely picked apart the Giants defense. Besides a few impressive plays by the defensive line and some nice grabs by Hakeem Nicks, both sides of the ball looked obsolete. Lets hope this doesn’t become a trend.
— The Good: Hakeem Nicks (did injure his hand, but does not look that serious), David Baas, Jason Pierre-Paul, Chris Canty and Jake Ballard.
— The O.K.: Ahmad Bradshaw
— The Bad: The Defensive backs, Kareem Mckenzie, Eli Manning, Brandon Jacobs, Kevin Gilbride’s play calling, Greg Jones, Hixon’s returns.
Obviously it is only Week 1, but a loss to the Skins’ in this fashion is never pretty to see. Do I think they will improve? – Yes. Tuck and Osi add another dimension to the team, and a veteran MLB will be almost definitely be added this week. Lets not forget, the Giants started the 2007 Superbowl campaign 0-2 and looked destined for failure. Its all a wait and see approach for now.
