Former Giant TE Ben Patrick Un-Retires

Here’s some news for Giants fans wanted a deeper roster at tight end, former Giant TE Ben Patrick has been reinstated by the NFL today.

“Today, I got reinstated by the NFL. My agent just texted me. That officially ends my retirement, and pretty much at this point I’ll be kind of starting over. I’m waiting for a team to give me a call.”

At the time of his retirement, Patrick, 27, said he needed to take care of “some personal issues and family issues.”

“(The Giants) had the rights to me, but upon my reinstatement they had to release their rights,” Patrick said. “I don’t know what the next recourse is. This just happened about 30 or 45 minutes ago. The season is in full swing. I’ve got to wait and see what teams need.”

What a douche. When he retired he was saying how he wanted to play with Kevin Boss and was discouraged when he signed with the Raiders. What kind of competitor is this guy? He WANTS to be a backup? I hope the league realizes he’s a quitter and nobody signs him. Go play in the CFL.
