Giants Outplay Niners, Lose in 4th…

The Giants statistically dominated the 49ers yesterday, but came up a bit short on their final drive to tie the game.  Except for about 2 minutes in the beginning of the 4th quarter, the Giants showed how good they can be.  A poor route by Manningham resulting in an interception, three plays on defense where the Giants seemed totally confused, and way too many penalties on special teams put the Giants in a tough position to win this game.  They still had chances, and Eli almost connected on the tying score twice, but it wasn’t to be.  The Giants did do some good things in this game, like getting D.J. Ware involved in a big way.  D.J. ran well, and was involved in the passing game as well.  Depending on the health of Ahmad Bradshaw, look for D.J. to continue to grow in this offense.

The Giants ran 70 plays, 305 total yards, with 93 yards gained on the ground against the best rush defense in the league.  They showed that they can overcome and fight on the road.  The Niners did what was expected of them, they had safe drives that resulted in field goals throughout the first half.  They then waited for a mistake, and pounced when it occurred.  This is how this team plays and obviously it has been successful for them.

Next up…The NIghtmare Eagles who are now 3-6 following a loss to Arizona at home.
