Did the Eagles Really Acquire any Talent?

Let’s take a look back at the transactions the Eagles made in the offseason and see how they have impacted this now 3-6 team.

DB-Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie:  20 tackles, No interceptions.

QB-Vince Young:  0 Yards, 0 TD’s 1 INT.

DB-Nnamdi Asomugha: 22 tackles, 3 Interceptions

DE-Jason Babin: 23 tackles 9 sacks, 1 forced fumble

DT-Cullen Jenkins: 24 tackles 4 sacks

LB-Akeem Jordan: 12 tackles

G-Evan Mathis: started all 8 games

LB-Terrence Thomas: waived

G-Danny Watkins: Started 5 games

RB-Ronnie Brown: Traded..trade cancelled, 16 carries 50 yards

WR-Steve Smith: Placed back on PUP list. 10 receptions, 110 yards, 1 fumble 0 TD’s

Added to these dismal statistics are their less than inspiring draft choices. Casey Matthews who was their starting MLB, has been benched along with LB’s Greg LLoyd (practice squad) and Brian Rolle who has 30 tackles.

The odd part of the signings is that the players who have had the most impact like Babin and Jenkins are part of one of the worst defenses in football.  It really is mind-boggling that this team cannot win.   Maybe it is the coach, but the next time you hear about all the Talent the Eagles acquired remember this list of under-achievers.
