Terrell Thomas “I’m Ahead of Schedule”

When Terrell Thomas went down with an ACL injury last year it was a huge loss to the secondary and it took its toll on the entire defense. Coming off a spectacular 2010 season he was poised to be a pro bowl CB and one of the leaders on defense. Now the question is will he be able to return to his 2010 form. After a second ACL surgery on his right knee last year there must be concern about how healthy Thomas can be and will he be able to come back at 100% of what he was. Remember Jason Sehorn was never really able to come back to his pre ACL injury form.

Thomas stated during an appearance and Chris Canty’s charity golf outing “I’ve said all along I’m ahead of schedule and doing good. My biggest thing is just protecting, keep building strength and to be ready for training camp and the opening game against Dallas.”

The Giants re-signed Thomas to a 4 year contract worth a reported $28 million in march. There is an option for the Giants after year one. After a year where a make shift secondary was exposed. Having Thomas back with Corey Webster on the other side could prove to be one of the better CB tandems in the league. Let’s all hope the knee is 100%.
