Wide Receiver Hakeem Nicks broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot in May and has not played in a preseason game in 2012. Nicks says he was told he will be taking snaps in tonight’s final preseason game against the New England Patriots.

“As of right now, I was told I was gonna take some snaps,” said Nicks. He also stated that he felt 100 percent for the first time in Sunday’s practice.

Tom Coughlin’s response was a little different when asked about Nicks playing tonight. Coughlin’s response was, “We’ll see.”

Last year Nicks caught for 1,192 yds and 7 touchdowns in 15 games. In 2010 he received 1,052 yds and 11 touchdowns in 13 games. ESPN insider currently ranks Hakeem Nicks tied with Greg Jennings of the Green Bay Packers for fifth best wide receiver in the NFL.

Everyone from fans to teammates are very happy to see that Nick’s recovery is near completion and that he will return soon.
