Giants...America's Real Team?

As the football season races towards kickoff, fans who are heading into Dick’s Sporting Goods have made it clear that the Giants are leading the Cowboys for the true title of “America’s Team,” at least based on the jerseys they’re purchasing.

According to the newly created Dick’s Sporting Goods Jersey Report, Eli Manning and Victor Cruz’s jerseys are the 3rd and 4th most popular in the pre-season player rankings.  No Cowboys are in the top 10.  The Giants defensive front is equally as formidable, with Jason Pierre-Paul and Justin Tuck running 2nd and 5th, respectively, in the Defensive Players rankings.  The lone bright spot for the Cowboys is Morris Claiborne, who claims the 7thslot in the Rookie rankings.  No Giants are represented on that list.

“The Jersey Report,” a first-of-its-kind experience, is a dynamic ranking system that tracks sales of pro football jerseys at Dick’s Sporting Goods stores across the country. Updated daily throughout the football season, the report is the only destination that provides fans with a comprehensive breakdown of how the sales of their favorite players’ jerseys are rising, falling and stacking up against the competition.

The report showcases player rankings across a variety of categories, including overall best-selling jerseys, top-performing offensive and defensive player jerseys, as well as the top rookies.

For additional information or to track all the players on the Jersey Report, check outwww.DicksSportingGoods.com/JerseyReport.

Seriously? What does jersey sales or even having the most # of fans have to do with being “America’s Team”?

Nicknames are not transferable, or else we would be calling Emmitt Smith “Sweetness” just because he is the NFL Rushing leader.

LMFAO I don’t even want to say how dumb this has become lately.

Ridiculous. Don’t confuse jersey sales in the largest populated area of the country to fan base throughout the country. A better metric would be increased ticket sales of road games by team. Also, look for visiting team jerseys in the stands. No doubt, you will see Cowboy jerseys at every road game.
