Fantasy Football Update

Once again we have the priveledge of having our guest Fantasy Football writer with us this week. @Corinna_Evans chimes in on injuries and bye week nightmares below:

It’s that time of the Fantasy Football season that most owners dread; between the injuries & under-performing players you have enough to deal with. Now you have to add in bye weeks!? This is where things can start getting tricky.

Don’t panic though, there’s always a viable backup option on the waiver wire. Below is a suggestion for free agents in each position you may be looking to fill a void.

Quarterback

Ryan Tannehill – Dolphins

If you are struggling in the quarterback position, or if your mediocre QB isn’t living up to your expectation, make sure you add Tannehill as soon as possible. This rookie from Miami is putting up impressive numbers every week & after Sunday’s performance with Brian Hartline, it seems those two could be a force to be reckoned with.

Running Back

Jackie Battle – Chargers

I’ve had my eye on Battle for a few weeks now and even added him to my roster last week. I’ve been kicking myself for two days for not starting him! In my defense how should I have known he was going to rush for 39 yards & a rushing TD, accompanied with 42 receiving yards & a TD. It’s unclear whether you can expect this kind of performance out of Battle every week but if you are in need of a running back, you should scoop him up quickly.

Wide Receiver

Brian Hartline – Dolphins

As I stated above, Miami has a new dynamic duo: Tannehill & Hartline. On a whim last week I picked up Hartline to replace a WR on bye week. Would you believe he scored be 30+ points?! #winning If he is still available in your league, I
definitely suggest adding him to the roster.

Tight End

Greg Olsen – Panthers

After a slow start to the season, Olsen recorded six catches for 89 yards & a touchdown versus the Falcons this weekend. He’s only owned in 17.6% of fantasy leagues, so if you are in need of a TE he should be available in your league.

Defense – Chargers

In Week 4 the Chargers defense managed to rack up six turnovers which helped them record over 21 fantasy points. While that may have only been one week, the Chargers defense has been putting up solid numbers this season & are worth the
pick up if your defense is under-performing this season.
