Giants: Offseason Needs

For those of you that watched the National Championship Game last night between Alabama and Notre Dame, you had to notice one thing at least.  The offensive line for Alabama is very very talented.

"Alabama dominated with an offensive line that includes three All-Americans — first-teamers Barrett Jones and left guard Chance Warmack, and second-teamer D.J. Fluker at right tackle. They created gaping holes against a team ranked fourth in the nation in run defense, and neutralized Heisman Trophy finalist Manti Te’o, who became a nonfactor."

So, the question becomes, can the Giants score one of these guys in the draft, or at least someone of their talent level?  The Giants will no doubt look to draft along the offensive line at some pint in this draft, whether it is in the first round or not remains to be seen.  They first need to decide on re-signing free agents such as Will Beatty and Kevin Boothe.  Then they can move on and see where players like James Brewer project into the starting line-up, and then the draft will become priority after the combine takes place.

I also think this mass array of talent from Alabama shows why it is tough for some college coaches to move to the NFL.  As Brent Musburger said last night…”In the NFL you only get one first round draft pick each year” in college you can recruit them all, and get as many top guys as possible to come to your school.
