Giants: Epic Moments in History #1

We have spent the last week reviewing the Epic Moments in History of the New York Giants as ranked and photographed by Sports Illustrated. We have re-visited three Super Bowl Championships, 2 NFL Title games , and an NFC Championship game for the ages.  It seems like every run the Giants make is something special and deserves a moment not only in Giants history, but the history of the NFL.

February 3rd, 2008:  Yes..You guessed it, and it would have been disappointing if we all didn’t agree on this moment in history.  The Eli Manning to David Tyree play was indeed the key play in this game.  Yes, Brandon Jacobs needed to convert on a fourth and one prior to this play, but the fact that if Eli could have been sacked during the first half of this epic play adds an element that I believe makes it the turning point of the game.  If Eli had been sacked on this 3rd and 5 play with just 1:15 to play, who knows what the results would have been.  Four plays later Eli hit Burress in the end zone to give the Giants a lead, and the Giants survived for an epic win.
