Ben Roethlisberger Restructure Deal

In this new age of the NFL, cap dollars are king.  Big Ben agreed to re-structure his contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers….which means he gets his money now instead of later.

"The Steelers will save about $6 million off their salary cap with the Roethlisberger restructure, which converts salary into bonus money. Breer reported details of the negotiations on Tuesday."

While these are all great moves for the team, let’s not confuse this with the player giving anything up for the team…if anything he benefits from the re-structure because the money becomes guaranteed….which regular money in an NFL contract is not.
