Governor Christie The Flopper
By Joe Tufaro
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced to no one in particular yesterday that he is a fan of the Mets, Knicks, Rangers, and The Dallas Cowboys. Who cares? What most non Giants fans don’t realize is that the Giants really don’t fret over who likes them or roots for them. They go about their business in a quiet gentlemanly manner, quite successfully, and don’t deal with outside distractions and proclamations from people who have no bearing on their lives. I came across the picture above and noticed he had no problem celebrating the Giants victory…a true Cowboys fan would have declined that opportunity, but the politician in him couldn’t resist.
Governor Christie used to be a Jets fan….even though he says he isn’t now. He always spoke openly about how he wanted to have the biggest parade when the Jets MADE the Super Bowl…not won, but made. Wouldn’t that be like celebrating that you ran for President and didn’t win?
"“I was a big fan when I was your age,” he said. “I was a big fan of Roger Staubach, who was the quarterback for the Cowboys back then. The Giants and the Jets pretty much stunk when I was a kid and my father was a Giants fan. I used to remember watching him when I was eight, nine years old and every Sunday he would watch the Giants and yell at the TV set. I used to think to myself, ‘Why would I want to root for a team that makes you angry?'”"
Governor Christie should understand that loyalty and a little suffering build character, and rooting for winners, front runners, and media darlings can make you fat and lazy and……oh wait.
Either way you look at it Governor Christie is a little bitter over the New York Giants playing in his state, and celebrating the fact with a name change…..and he thinks by making statements he will affect them in some way….not gonna happen Governor…go back to being a Jet backer….you won’t be living in Jersey much longer anyway.
