NY Giants linebacker Dan Connor, 27, 6’2″, 241 lbs,was arrested at the Philadelphia airport Saturday morning at about 9 a.m. and charged with possession of an offensive weapon. A TSA officer spotted a switchblade knife in Connor’s luggage when his luggage was moving through the x-ray machine.

He has released from custody on his own recognizance.

Connor played college ball at Penn State  and played his first four years in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers. Last year, playing of the Cowboys, Connor made 56 tackles in 14 games. In March 2013 he signed with the Giants and is competing for the middle linebacker position.

So here’s the obvious question: why does a 6’2″, 241 lbs linebacker built like a brick sh*t house feel the need to carry a switchblade? This is just really dumb.
