Last night while I watched Osi make his debut with the Atlanta Falcons, and it made me wonder what all the other ex-Giants were doing.  Maybe we could do this all season long?  Let’s see how it goes.  For those of you who have forgotten, here is the list of Free Agents the Giants decided to part ways with this past off season.

TE Martellus Bennett — Signed four-year, $20 million deal with Chicago. Martellus is the starting TE for the Chicago Bears
S Kenny Phillips — Signed with Philadelphia for a one-year deal. Kenny is listed as a backup to Nate Allen at strong safety.
DT Chris Canty — After being released, landed with Ravens. Listed as Starting DE on the Ravens re-built defense and recorded a sack in a 44-16 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
LB Chase Blackburn — Agreed to two-year deal with Carolina after Dan Connor signed with the Giants. Currently listed behind Luke Kuechly on the depth chart at MLB.
DE Osi Umenyiora — Osi now spreading his wings as a Dirty Bird in Atlanta. Osi showed his usual disdain for playing the run last night.  Osi is the starting RDE for the Falcons.
WR Domenik Hixon — Another Giant heads to Carolina to join Dave Gettleman. Currently listed as the backup to Brandon LaFell opposite Steve Smith.
K Lawrence Tynes — Giants signed Josh Brown. Lawrence has been injured and is fighting to make the team in Tampa.  He did not play against the Ravens this week.
DT Rocky Bernard — Still a free agent.
TE Travis Beckum — Still a Free Agent
T Sean Locklear — Still a Free Agent
CB Justin Tryon – Still a Free Agent
CB Brian Witherspoon — Has to come back from another ACL tear. Still a Free Agent.

Now it’s still early in camp, so we will see where all these players wind up on opening day, but it might be interesting to follow their career choices for this season on a regular basis.
