A simple tweet from Andre Brown let the Giants fans know what exactly is happening with #35:

@drebrown35: See y’all week 8.

I mentioned the chance of this happening in the article I wrote when the news of the fractured leg first came about. The IR/designated to return allows teams to put an injured player with an extended recovery time on short term IR,which gives the player the ability to come back after week 8. Not sure if Andre knows this, but he is allowed to start practicing after week 6, and allowed to play in a game after week 8. In the Giants case, it is against the Raiders on November 10th since they have their bye week 9.

This move will allow the Giants a chance to bring in and sign more depth at any position necessary with Brown no longer counting against the final 53. When he comes back however, the Giants will then have to make the decision of who to let go. There is also a possibility that Brown is not able to come back and is put on the season ending IR, but lets not go down that path just yet.

Although not official, it seems like this is exactly what the Giants will do. All we can do as Giants fans is hope that David Wilson and Co. can hold the fort down behind Eli until Andre comes back at full strength.
