The Giants are now 0-4 for the first time since 1987, losing to the Chiefs 31-7.

The first half looked very promising with a 10-7 score. Should have been tied but Brown missed a 44 yard field goal.

Alex Smith, Jamaal Charles, and the Chiefs defense had something to say about that.

Alex Smith finished the game with 288 yards with 3 TDs. He also ran 7 times for 37 yards. He threw 2 INTs, the only two of the year.

Jamaal Charles ran 18 times for 65 yards but also caught 5 for 62 and 1.

Giants seemed to have no answer for the 3rd string TE of the Chiefs either. Sean McGrath had 5 for 64 and 1.

Eli Manning finished with 217 with 1 TD and 1 bad intercetpion.

It was Hali, not Houtson getting to the QB the most with two of the three Chiefs sacks.

Victor Cruz had himself a great day with 10 receptions for 164 yards and a TD.

Hakeem Nicks had multiple opportunities to make more than 3 catches but failed to bring the ball in at least 3 times.

The Giants as a team ran for 98 yards, Wilson leading the way with 55.

Punt coverage for the Giants let them down again, letting McCluster return one to the house from 89 yards out.

Giants barely got any pressure on the QB again this game, tallying 1 sack.

Quick blow by blow:

1st quarter was great for the Giants, they had a nice tipped punt by rookie special teams ace Damontre Moore.  However to end the 1st, the Chiefs drove 98 yards in 11 plays and scored a TD at the beginning of the 2nd.

The Giants followed that up with the 69 yard bomb to Cruz and that was it for the Giants offense.

Chiefs hit a 51 yard fieldgoal after their kicker was 0-2 on FGs from 50+.

With 1:55 left, Eli drove the ball all the way down the field to put Josh Brown in position to make a 44 yard field goal to tie the game, but he missed wide left.

3rd Quarter had interesting plays. Eli bombed the ball to a unknowing Rueben Randle which was intercepted. The next drive Antrel Rolle picked a ball off that went off Charles’ leg.

There was also a 3rd down with 17 yards to go and Cruz got 16.5. The ensuing punt my Weatherford was straight down the middle of the field to Dexter McCluster and he ran it back 89 yards to make it 17-7.

4th quarter, the Chiefs kicked a 53 yard fieldgoal to make it 20-7 but the Giants were in an illegal formation, making it a first down. Later in the drive, Charles caught ball for a short TD reception.

The Giants last drive ended in a fumbled handoff to Scott, picked up by Eric Berry. Alex Smith then found Dwayne Bowe down the field for a 34 yard TD.
